Mirthful Contra Dancing

Hello! I'd love to call & teach at your dance that is inclusive & welcoming.

I bring upbeat energy to dancing and encourage all dancers to be kind and gracious as we gather to learn and have fun. As a previous yoga teacher, I often remind folks to be aware of their body space and connection with others. I believe a "good dancer" is someone who's safe and having fun!

I use the ornithological dancing roles (Larks and Robins) and am happy to provide references on request.

Julie The Mirthful

I've been contra dancing since I was a child, and bringing friends (and teaching them how to dance!) since I was a teenager. I love contra because of its inclusivity and ability to boost ones mood. I'm fortunate to have danced around (and out of) the country and have experienced a variety of contra dance cultures.

Dancing is always fun but I've been told dances I call are "exceptionally mirthful."
